Lekker penguin

Two weeks ago, two baby chicks hatched to parents Daiquiri and Ariel (Male and Female) who, although being good parents, were clearly only capable of raising one chick.
Of their two chicks, Lekker and Luigi, Lekker was the strongest and it was decided to remove him from his parents care and give him to two young females, Coral and Basil to adopt and raise as their own.
This experience makes first time moms out of both Coral and Basil who have taken to their new role very seriously and for the first three days after being given this enormous responsibility neither of them left the nest once as they focussed all their attention on their new little darling.

Much like all new parents, they have now settled down into a more manageable routine‚ and their young charge has more than doubled his weight under their ever watchful eyes.
